Exploring the Markets of Paris

Thursday, September 6, 12:00 – 1:30 pm in the Rick Nichols Room

A talk by Marjorie R. Williams, author of Markets of Paris
The talk will be followed by a book signing.
Refreshments will be served.

Join Marjorie Williams, co-author of Markets of Paris, 2nd Ed, to hear about a fresh way of experiencing Paris—through the city’s markets! Highlighting some of the best food, flea, antique and hobbyist markets that Paris has to offer, she will share practical tips for enjoying the markets as a fun way to explore local culture, sample regional foods, find unusual souvenirs, and venture into new neighborhoods. Step off the beaten path of typical tourist sites and discover the City of Light in a whole new light! Marjorie will accompany her talk with a slideshow and stories of her experiences while living in Paris.

Fascinated with farmers’ markets since childhood, Marjorie R. Williams is a writer and photographer whose work has been featured in magazines and travel blogs. Williams, who has held executive editorial positions with major publishing companies, travels extensively and discovered that exploring local markets is a way to understand the local culture.
