Herbiary to Celebrate its Grand Opening on Earth Day, April 22, 2010

On Earth Day, April 22nd, from 10am-2pm, Herbiary, the Market’s newest merchant, will celebrate its grand opening. Herbiary understands that taking care of people and taking care of the planet are one and the same. So, it is only fitting that they debut their eco-friendly store on Earth Day!

The following is a tentative schedule for the day:
10am- Opening Ceremony at Herbiary with Katryn Lavanture.
10:30am – Medicine Making with Herbiary owner Maia Toll, Center Court
11:00am – 2:00pm, Center Court
Sweet Nectars of Mother Earth: learn the secrets of using plant essences and oils from Lunaria Lewis.
From the Farm to your Face: learn how to turn home-grown herbs into products the whole family can use from Susan Hess.
A Little Taste of Africa at the Reading Terminal Market: Learn the difference between East African and West African shea butter. Purchase these products and support the Suhuyini Women’s Cooperative in Ghana.
Explore the Best of Bucks County: learn about medicinal herbal remedies from Sharon Moncrief.
Love Herbs? Purchase medicinal herbs from Market Blooms in Center Court.
Pop it Up!: Learn how to grow plants from seeds from Dawn Pritchard.
Enjoy the haunting sounds of the Native American Flute as Jan Seiden performs throughout the day.
2pm – Closing Ceremony – end the day with storyteller extraordinaire Dan Johnson.
